There are currently 34 Firewise USA Sites in Deschutes County. Some of these communities have decided to formalize their Firewise efforts by changing or creating new CC&Rs to capture landscaping and building best practices. We have collected a select few local example CC&Rs for neighborhoods to use as examples or templates for their own Firewise activities.
In collaboration with NFPA’s Firewise Program, the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety has developed many resources for homeowners explaining how to improve your home’s probability of surviving a wildfire.
